COMMITEES + GROUPS

Do you have a heart for this church? Do you have a desire to help, but don't know where to fit in? Well, if you have computer skills, we have just the place for you!

Right now we have a great Ministry opportunity for several people. We would like to put together a Media Team!   We need volunteers to operate MediaShout on Sunday mornings during one or both of the services. Mediashout is like a power point program. It's fun and fairly easy to learn.

You will be needed for 2 to 3 hours during the week or any time that fits in your schedule, to type up the announcements and songs. Then on Sunday mornings be available to run the program on the video screen for the worship services.

Several people being involved would be ideal, when one couldn't be here the other or others would be able to step in.( High School age or older please.)

EXCITING NEWS! Nameoki now has a Praise Team!

The team includes, Rachel & Karen Beasley, Andria Pritchett, Bev Nance, Linda Wozniak, Steve Lathrop, Marilyn Bernaix, and Becky and Tim Pate.  The book of Psalms is the hymnbook and prayer book of the Bible composed by authors over a long period of time. Many of these thanksgiving songs, songs of blessings and prayers for help, have found their way into modern day music and into Praise and Worship lyrics. The Praise team sets the tone or mood for the worship service.

It's all for His glory!

A Few Items the Church Committees are Working on...

The Trustees committee  received bids for new church insurance, as the old carrier did not have adequate coverage. They decided to go with Brotherhood Mutual, beginning May 7th, this year.

The Building Committee is in the process of getting bids on the "next phase", which is remodeling the bathrooms and maybe the Education Wing. Pledge drive information will be coming soon.

This is cool... we have had to have the paint mixed several times to match the awning and fascia at the church, so our local Lowes store has created a new color just for us called  "Methodist Cream". Available on request.
J

Tiles for the down spots on the south side of the church building have been recently installed.

Our new Security Committee will be implementing safety
procedures and discuss with us recommendations for a safer church, in the coming weeks.

The Youth Group numbers have grown. Myna expanded the age range from 4th grade up to seniors.

The Finance Committee added over $1400 to the General Fund through the Chicken and Dumplings Dinner.

The Rummage Sale is always a lot of work. In the end it is worth it though. We made over $1500. The money is used in part, for things that are not built into the budget; such as book cases, decorative tables, cleaning supplies, vacuums, computer programs, just to name a few.

Speaking of computer programs, MEDIASHOUT, was just added to the secretary and to Becky Pate's computers . This is a program for projector and the screen in the sanctuary. Right now we are still in the learning stages.

Church treasurer, Patty Lanz , reported at the last finance meeting that Nameoki's finances are in the black at the present.

God is Good!!!

A Special Thanks

We would like to thank Bob and Cindy Hollingshead and their family for the donation of the beautiful benches under the new canopy. The benches were purchased in memory of Homer and Doris Blumenstock .

The recent addition of the Memorial Gardens were given in memory of Faye Bess, Evelyn Briggs, Byron Briner and Alma Cowan by their families . We would like to thank their families for beauty that their donation added to our beautiful church.  Homer, Doris, Faye, Evelyn, Byron and Alma were all members of our church for decades. These donations keep their spirit among us. Please remember them when you see the benches and gardens.

The benches and the gardens will be dedicated on Sunday, May 16th during the 10:30 a.m. service.  Loretta Hahn gave a special donation in memory of her son Roger Hahn earlier this year. The monetary gift went toward the purchase of items for  the video and audio equipment for the sanctuary.

Thanks to all of the special gifts, as well as to the faithful giving each week. It takes all of us to float this ship and each of us to pull an oar. Sometimes we can pull more than our share, other times we have to sit on the side and just appreciate the ones who can take on the extra.
